Becoming a teacher in Florida can be a rewarding and exciting career for those passionate about helping their students through their education journey. For those looking to become a teacher in Florida, you will need to apply for teacher certification in the state. Prospective educators who didn’t originally receive their bachelor’s degree in education must undergo a Florida Educator Preparation Institute program, such as Moreland University’s TEACH-NOW online teacher certification program, to obtain their certification. Any teacher preparation program that you choose to attend must be an approved EPI provider by the state of Florida.

For a comprehensive guide to earning your teacher certification in Florida, we highly recommend Moreland University’s Guide to Teacher Certification in Florida. It provides all the essential information you need to navigate the certification process effectively.

Preparing You for Florida Classrooms

If you are looking to receive your teaching certification in Florida, you will need to complete a teacher preparation program. The teacher preparation program is an excellent supplement for those who did not earn their bachelor’s in education, but would like to become one of Florida’s educators. It’s important to note that this is not an alternative to a four-year degree. Prospective teachers in the state of Florida looking to enroll at Moreland University must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution prior to admission.

Moreland University’s TEACH-NOW program  equips, enables, and empowers teachers in any learning environment, making our programs ideal for prospective educators in Florida. In order to apply for your teacher certification in Florida, you will need to pass the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations–FTCE. Per the Florida Department of Education, the purpose of the FTCE is “to ensure that all teacher candidates demonstrate the necessary content and pedagogical knowledge necessary to effectively instruct students in Florida.”
