Why Choose Moreland University?

How does this program help me earn my online teaching certification?

Our Master’s in Education Degree Programs, offered in six areas of specialization, include the TEACH-NOW Teacher Preparation Certificate coursework. The TEACH-NOW® Teacher Preparation Certificate Program provides the graduate level coursework required for an alternative teaching certification. If you hold a Bachelor’s degree in a field other than education and would like to pursue a teaching certification, completing a preparation program is one requirement you will need to fulfill. After successfully completing the TEACH-NOW program, you will need to meet the additional requirements in the state where you are applying for certification, which may include additional exams. We are here to help you through the process.

How can I find information about your accrediting or approval bodies?

You can find this information on our Accreditation and Approvals page.

What do I need to get started?

You’ll need a Bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA or its equivalent. Admissions requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accreditated institution.
  • Transcript evaluation if your Bachelor’s degree is from an institution outside of the U.S.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher, or equivalent experience
  • English language proficiency
  • Writing sample
  • Additional requirements may apply depending on your area of certification

Visit our Admissions Page to review all our Admissions Requirements, or sign up for a regularly-scheduled information session.

Can I continue working full-time while going through the program?

Many candidates work full-time while they complete a master’s program at Moreland University. The workload varies, but averages out to approximately 15 hours a week.

If you are in a Master’s in Education Degree Program, your program will also require 12 weeks of practice teaching in a classroom with a supervising mentor teacher. For candidates already in the classroom, this requirement can typically be met through their current teaching assignment.

How much does it cost?

We offer affordable tuition for candidates seeking to complete our teacher preparation certificate program or a Master’s in Education degree.
